It is easy to paint objects in Ray Dream.  All you need to do is select the object, select the shade, and click Apply.  Let's take our object for example.  First you need to paint the cover and the main mailbox.  Select the two objects by first selecting one and the pressing Shift and selecting the other. Making sure that the shades browser is up, choose the shade of your choice.  Then click Apply in the shades browser. (If you are using a patter like marble or wood patter, you need to switch to better view mode by clicking raydreambut014.GIF (452 bytes) (This is on the same bar as the wireframe button raydreambut010.GIF (362 bytes)) . Repeat this process until you find a color scheme you like for the mailbox.  If you want to paint detail on the object, try using one of the paint brushes.  This allows some detail work, but you should use Fractal Design's Detailer for serious detailing.  This allows you to paint directly on the object.  A demo for this can be found at the Metacreations web site.  Now that the object has been painted, select all the objects and click the group button raydreambut015.GIF (369 bytes).  Now the mailbox is complete, and all you have to do is render it.  To render the object, choose Render, and the render setting you want.  You can adjust the render options by choosing Render Settings. To use these Setting choose Render, Current settings.  You will have to adjust the lights and cameras to the view you want.  You do this like any other object, by moving and rotating.   Render setting include backgrounds and back drops use these to insert you mail box in a scene.  After your Render is done you can save your image in file formats supported by web browser(.JPG or .GIF)  If you are using the Demo you cannot save, export, print, etc. any of your work.

Congratulations, You have completed this 3D Design Tutorial!
